Before submitting the outline planning application, we carried out a comprehensive consultation programme to engage with the local community and seek their views at an early stage. The consultation helped shaped the final proposals, particularly the new Community Woodland Park.
A clear majority of people who attended our two-day exhibition in September supported the plans.
Our work included:
- Organising a series of Stakeholder Working Group meetings consisting of Councillors, residents, businesses, and other key stakeholders who could provide local insight and feedback on the proposals. The Stakeholder Working Group allowed stakeholders to discuss the emerging proposals, provide feedback and shape the scheme from an early stage.
- Presenting our plans to Sprowston Town Council, Thorpe St Andrew Town Council and Great & Little Plumstead Parish Council at an early stage to seek their views on the emerging proposals.
- Distributing approximately 7,000 information letters and exhibition invitation leaflets to local residents.
- Holding a two-day public exhibition in September to allow the local community to view the proposals, speak with members of the project team and provide feedback ahead of the plan being finalised.
